Abstract

This paper proposes an analytical method for choosing the optimum technical parameters, as well as the parameters of the objective of a nonscanning thermal viewer that ensures that the probabilities of detecting or recognizing a given set of objects are no smaller than the required values and minimizes the diameter of the objective of the device and hence minimizes the cost and mass-and-weight indices.
