This paper presents the results of a calculation of the optical characteristics—the extinction coefficient and refractive index—of a metal–polymer composite of polyparaxylylene–silver in the wavelength range 300–2000 nm for various silver concentrations. An algorithm is described for doing the calculation by means of a specially created program. Using the resulting data, multilayer polymeric interference filters based on a metal–polymer nanocomposite of polyparaxylylene–silver are presented that cut off the UV and visible wavelength ranges.
