Abstract
A method is proposed for the restoration of multicomponent digital images, based on preliminary adaptive detection of pulse noise, followed by compensation, using the property of interchannel redundancy. The proposed method has been numerically investigated in a wide intensity range of pulse noise, the results of which show that the accuracy of the restoration of three-component (color) images has been increased. Examples are given of image restoration, using previously known processing methods and the proposed method.
