Abstract
The strength of items bonded by optical contact has been determined, taking into account the specifics of the production technology of helium–neon ring lasers. The variation of the bonding strength as a result of prolonged heat treatment is considered. A method is proposed for reducing the stresses that appear in the bond. A study has been made of how the difference of the thermal coefficients of linear expansion of the materials affects the stresses that appear in contact bonding.
