Efficient infrared-to-blue conversion in the propagation of ultrashort pulses in a microstructured fiber

Abstract

By performing an experimental investigation of the nonlinear propagation of wavelength-tunable femtotosecond and picosecond pulses in a microstructured fiber, we observe soliton dynamics leading to a very efficient blue light generation.
