High quality hollow metallic waveguide: engineering, testing and applications

Abstract

Gold and silver surfaces of optical quality have high reflectivity from visible to far infrared. A hollow waveguide with gold or silver as the waveguide material will be a useful device to transmit high power laser, particularly CO2 laser, for mechanical and medical operations.
