Birefringent SiGe/Si waveguide for reconfigurable broadband mid-IR sources

Abstract

We demonstrate mid-IR supercontinuum generation in a birefringent SiGe-on-Si waveguide. By changing the pump polarization, we simultaneously control the bandwidth, flatness and the coherence of the generated spectra.
