Abstract

Optical phase change media with a (single-sided) capacity of 10-20 GByte would be highly desirable in future products, as they would allow for example storage of more than four hours of DVD quality video on a single disk. Several options might lead the way to such a medium: e.g. dual layer, blue wavelength, and high numerical aperture.
