Precision Fiducial Application on Mirror Surfaces for the Optical Alignment of NFIRAOS

Abstract

A device was constructed which applies ink-dot fiducials on mirror surfaces to an accuracy of 100 µm. These fiducials are used in the alignment of the Narrow Field InfraRed Adaptive Optics System’s (NFIRAOS) optics.
