Abstract

A novel double-clad Tm-doped ring fiber laser was constructed by polishing the output end in 45 degree and recircling the pumping and laser field by internal total reflection. With a 80 cm long fiber, 2.7 W single-mode continuous-wave output is generated for 11.5 W launched pump power.
