Research on atmospheric optics using laser radar in Korea

Abstract

In Korea, the research for measuring the atmospheric parameters by the optical method was firstly tried in some groups from ten years ago. However, the first use of laser radar was when ILE (Institute for Laser Engineering) measured the ozone concentration of stratosphere in October of 1992. At present time, the research groups of ILE, KAERI, and KAIST are measuring the ozone concentration, aerosol coefficient, and the pollution gases of the atmosphere by using lidar.
