A Model to Obtain an Optimized Erbium Density Profile in EDFA

Abstract

An optimized Er-density profile in Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers is introduced in which, dependening on input pump power and waveguide structure of fibers, high gain enhancement is obtained in relatively short length of fiber.
