Abstract

We describe an advanced integrated optical phase modulator design that harnesses a light recycling approach with up to 3 passes to increase the efficiency of its electro-optical response. The device was fabricated on a SiN loaded lithium niobate on insulator platform and exhibited an up to 8 times enhanced modulation response for an equivalent optical and electrical input power.
