Two-photon absorption semiconductor waveguide autocorrelators for ultrashort pulse measurements

Abstract

A conventional autocorrelator consists of a Michelson interferometer, which splits an incident train of laser pulses into two paths. Both beams are then combined in a second-harmonic generating crystal and the pulsewidth is obtained by measuring the intensity of the second-harmonic generated (SHG) light as a function of the time delay between the two beams.
