Abstract
Recent results in the studies of the physics and technology of waveguide gas laser are presented. The main attention is paid to the infrared atomic and molecular gas lasers with electrical discharge excitation, particularly CO and Ar:Xe, although a brief discussion of other types of gas lasers also will be given. Problems concerning a further improvement of the CO2 waveguide laser performance are discussed.
