Abstract

A simulation program was developed by combination of a finite element code (FEM) and a 3-D beam propagation code (BPM) to analyze thermal effects on the mode formation in miniaturized diode pumped solid-state lasers. Numerical results were compared with analytical formulae, and were found to be in very good agreement for cases allowing an analytical treatment.
