Abstract

The interest in solid-state lasers based on Pr3+ is due to the fact that Pr3+ offers many transitions in the visible and nearinfrared spectral region.1 We studied for the first time to our knowledge the optical absorption and fluorescence of Pr3+: Y2SiO5. The Stark level diagram was obtained and interpretation of the optical transitions was made.
