Abstract

We propose and demonstrate an original modal filtering process able, in some cases, to induce convergence of laser field distributions towards an unique and unconventional modal profile thanks to two appropriate filters in two intracavity planes for which the transverse fields are connected by a Fourier Transform. The two different and complementary filters were designed in order to induce pattern dependent diffraction losses in both Fourier planes of the cavity.
