Abstract

Optical nonlinearities, induced by carrier photogeneration, in multiple-quantum well structures attract much attention due to both potential applications and fundamental reasons In particular, the quantum wells based on III-V semiconductors are relevant to the realization of optically-controlled waveguiding devices for telecommunication applications, operating at wavelengths longer than the absorption threshold. The knowledge of the nonlinear optical properties in that spectral region is far from being complete and we will address here some critical issues of the dynamical nonlinear behaviors related to the underlying microscopical properties.
