Abstract

Absorption coefficient spectra have been calculated for interdiffused InGaAs/InP quantum wells considering different interdiffusion rates for group III and group V sublattices. Results show that with a suitable interdiffusion process, polarization independent absorption properties can result, which is of considerable interest in waveguide modulators.
