Abstract

We describe the Nd:YLF laser system, which generates pulse trains consisting of 800 individual picosecond pulses spaced by 1.0 microsecond (see records below taken with time scales of 100 μs/div (upper) and 1 μs/div (lower image)). Each of the individual "micropulses" contains an energy of 0.2 mJ. Consequently, the total energy of the pulse trains, which are generated with 10 Hz repetition rate, amounts to 0.18 J.
