Abstract
Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) of laser radiation is important for building phase conjugating mirrors which could be used among others for compensating phase distorsions in high power solid state laser systems. For designing SBS mirrors, the detailed knowledge of the temporal and spatial distribution of the fields present in the SBS interaction (pump, Stokes and acoustical field) is essential.
