A diode pumped 0.6 W cw Tm:GdVO4 microchip laser

Abstract

For diode pump with chopper with duty cycles 50% a maximum output power of 1.4W (λ=1915 pm) was attained in a Tm3+:GdVO4 microchip laser for lasing threshold of 5, 7 W and a slope efficiency of 9.2% [1]. Under Ti: sapphire pumping slope efficiencies of 58% are achieved at this microchip samples. This value exceeds the Stokes limit of 42%.
