Observation of Flat-band Line States in Photonic Super-honeycomb Lattices

Abstract

We demonstrate for the first time photonic super-honeycomb lattices established with a cw-laser writing technique, thereby uncovering two different types of flat-band line states that manifest noncontractible-loop-states in infinite flat-band systems arising from real-space topology.
