Highly Sensitive Strain Sensor Based on Helical Structure in Multicore Fiber

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a highly sensitive strain sensor based on a helical structure in a multicore fiber. The maximum sensitivity is about −61.13 pm/με. The sensor has the capability of discriminating strain and temperature.
