Investigation of the Laser-like Effect in Powdered Luminophores

Abstract

The developing of light sources on the basis of strong scattering media is an area of interest for some investigators, which observed laser-like effects in several kinds of disordered materials. Usually this effect in such a media is considered to be an Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) in the mirrorless generator. However, the nature of the effect still has not been fully interpreted. Some observers came to the conclusion that in the simplest form the ASE model for phenomena is inadequate, [1,2]. In this report we would like to show that our observations also need a more sophisticated explanation than the simple diffusion ASE approach.
