Abstract

Last years there were some works concerning magnetic field induced effects in nonlinear optical response of solids. It was shown that magnetic field induced enchancement of the second harmonic generation (SHG) intensity, nonlinear-optical Kerr effect, magnetic field induced variations of the rotational anizotropy can be observed in magnetic crystals, films and planar systems [1-4]. At the same time the mechanizm of these effects is not quite clear yet. Here we report our studies on magnetic field induced variations of quadratic nonlinear properties of anizotropic films by means of SHG technique and propose a possible mechanizm of these effects.
