Measurement of Polariton Absorption Using Nonlinear Interference

Abstract

In order to investigate characteristics of equilibrium polaritons, such as dispersion of absorption, group velocity dispersion and others, one usually uses the polariton scattering spectroscopy. This method is based on the study of frequency and angular lineshapes of light scattering by polaritons. However, the accuracy of such measurements is low in the vicinity of phonon resonances since in this case the angular lineshape is essentially non-Lorentzian [1].
