Abstract

Ultrafast preparation of molecules in selected vibrational states may serve as a very suitable precursor of many inter- and intra-molecular processes. Until now, the ultrafast selective preparation of vibrational states on the pico- and femtosecond time scale has been studied theoretically only for the ground electronic states of both isolated [1] and coupled to the environment [2] molecules (see also references in [1,2]).
