Abstract
Optically excited electrons in the miniband of a GaAs/Al0.3Gao0.7As-superlattice can undergo coherent plasma oscillations. The oscillations are driven by the ultrafast screening of the surface space charge field by the photoexcited electrons. We use standard pump-probe techniques in our experiments to measure alterations in the sample reflectivity.
