Abstract

The very high brightness, very good contrast and high efficiency of Inoguchi /1/ type electroluminescence devices (ELD) have boosted the interest in the mostly used emitter system - Mn2+ in ZnS. The highest brightness levels achieved - some 5000 ftL - are below the ones expected from crude estimates and several investigators found saturation of brightness upon drive /2,3/.
