Single Mode Fiber at Zero-dispersion Wavelength

Abstract

A single mode fiber with very low loss of 0.5 dB/km at 1.30 μm has been attained. Very low dispersion was experimentally confirmed at 1.29 μm in a 10.4 km fiber system.
