Abstract

Using macro-based optimization capabilities of commercially available lens design software, one can optimize directly on laser beam waist parameters. This, along with multiconfiguration capability, allows multiple sources and anamorphic systems in a single lens file even though the Gaussian beam ray trace uses paraxial rays in only the YZ plane.
