Abstract
In integrated optics there is considerable interest in miniaturized lasers which can be used as signal sources for optical communications systems. Strong effort has been made, therefore, to develop the technique of epitaxially growing neodymium thin film lasers [1,2,3]. In the following, the experimental investigation of the waveguiding properties and laser performance of an epitaxially grown YAG:Nd3+ waveguide laser is reported.
