Abstract
The deposition of polycrystalline diamond films has been demonstrated for a wide variety of flames and plasmas. Uniform diamond deposition was demonstrated recently in a rich H2/C2H2/O2 flat flame stabilized in the stagnation region of the deposition substrate [1,2]. Continued development of this technology depends strongly on increased understanding of the diamond growth process through experimental and theoretical studies [3].
