Abstract

Rapid, secure, high bandwidth communication is valuable for civilian uses such as last mile access, mesh networks, and disaster relief. Exciting Technology is developing low C-SWaP free space optical communication (FSOC) equipment that can be quickly put into operation by an unskilled user, can handle dynamic targets, and can communicate between one server node and multiple client nodes simultaneously. This paper describes BER experiments using an ET’s FSOC equipment over 48hrs and 1.4km.
