Abstract

A number of works [1,2] have recently appeared, where Cerenkov second harmonic generation in LiNbO3 waveguides is considered. Proton-exchanged H+:LiNbO3 waveguides were mainly investigated, featuring high value of refractive index difference and small waveguide depth and hence strong optical confinement. The high Cerenkov SHG efficiency (μ=1% at pump power P=20 mW) was obtained in such waveguides. The efficiency of this process in waveguides produced by Ti diffusion into LiNbO3 is not yet estimated.
