Abstract
Quasi-phasematching has been investigated for more than a decade as a means for implementing efficient nonlinear interactions. Recent progress in eliminating the photorefractive and photochromic aging effects that have limited practical application of ferroelectric materials, and use of orientation-patterned GaAs for mid-infrared devices will be described.
