Abstract

Excellent results have been reported for bulk-wave interferometric, acoustooptic spectrum analyzers.12 However, a major drawback to this approach is the extreme fragility of the optical interferometer which is subject to subwavelength alignment tolerances. We have overcome this difficulty by fabricating complete guided-wave devices on the surfaces of titanium-indiffused lithium niobate waveguides.
