Nonlinear intracavity optical devices for free-electron lasers

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Several kinds of nonlinear optical device have been proposed to exploit and extend the tunability and pulse structure of free-electron lasers, for example, the acoustooptic output coupler designed for the MK III infrared FEL at Stanford University [Appl. Opt. 23, 2935 (1984)].
