Immersed beamdivider that transmits s polarization

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The goal is a coating composed of nonabsorbing layers that manifests relatively high reflectance at a wavelength λ0 for the p polarization and low reflectance for s polarization, where the incident medium and substrate have an index of 1.52 and the incidence angle is 45°. In other words, the coating is in a cemented cube. Its design is where p is the number of times the basic period is repeated. H and L represent layers of optical thickness λ0/4 (matched at 45°) and refractive indices nh and nL, respectively. The single layer in AR1 dereflects at a wavelength λ0 the interface between glass and a massive medium of index nH for s polarization. The single layer in AR2 dereflects at a wavelength λ0 the interface between a massive medium of index nH and a massive medium of index nL for s polarization.
