A Frostpreventing Insulator

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Existing techniques to prevent condensation upon outdoor surfaces is based upon metallic like coatings. An easily polarizable gas of conduction electrons results in high bulk reflectance in the near infrared and infrared regions i. e. low thermal emittance. In particular condensation prevention has been combined with high visible transmittance by coating glass with doped tinoxide for the reduction of frost formation on car windows.
