Silica-based integrated optical hybrid on silicon for phase diversity coherent receiver

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We report the realization of a high silica, fiber compatible, low-loss, integrated optical hybrid on silicon based on a three waveguide directional coupler. The beam propagation method has been used for the simulation of the device, which has been fabricated by a combination of flame hydrolysis deposition and reactive ion etching.
