Abstract

Magneto-optical disk memory (MODM) is one of the optical disk memories. Since it uses thin magnetic films as the recording medium, it is possible to erase and re-record. Therefore, the magneto-optical disk memory combines the two advantages--a high density which is a characteristic of optical memories and the rewriting capabibility which is caracteristic of magnetic memories.
