Abstract

As a reversible large capacity memory, magneto-optical disc has been developed in both fields of medium and system. There have been many studies of rare earth-transition metal alloy thin films since thermomagnetic writing was reported on GdCo amorphous thin film.(1) (2) The Kerr rotations from 0.1° to 0.3° of these films are very small, therefore, it is difficult to obtain high signal to noise ratio(SNR).
