Time Resolving Analysis of Amorphous Mark Forming in Phase Change Optical Disks

Abstract

Phase change mark simulator is investigated. Nucleation, crystal growth, and re-crystallization at amorphous/crystal boundary are taken into consideration. Crystallization is evaluated with 3-dimensional thermal analysis. Mark shapes of experiments and simulation are in good agreement. Amorphous mark forming process was analyzed with the simulator.
