Abstract

Fiber selection and dispersion management are key issues in designing WDM systems. We summarize the technical issues for three types of optical fibers transmitting WDM signals. We demonstrate 10 Gb/s, 16-wavelength WDM transmission over 300 km of SMF using dispersion compensating fiber.
