Abstract

A high-performance and piezoelectrically actuated soliton switching in an optical fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer at 1547nm wavelength is demonstrated. We have shown when the length of the input soliton period is much longer than the coupler length soliton switching, splitting and fusion can be achieved by means of changing the phase of the soliton signal in one of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer arms.
