Ultra High Speed Switching of Polarization and Wavelength Insensitive MQW Electroabsorption Optical Gates

Abstract

We have demonstrated ultra high speed switching of MQW electroabsorption(EA) modulator in use for WDM switching systems. A fabricated MQW-EA gate switches showed switching times less then 40ps from 1545nm to 1560nm with arbitrary polarization lights.
