Abstract

High speed optical gate module is reported by using Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA). Short switching time of 0.8nsec, more than 60dB extinction, polarization insensitive operation, and penalty-free gating for 10-Gb/s optical signal input were performed on small switching current of less than 30mA.
